Book Review: NIV Essentials Study Bible

A new year provides a new opportunity to read through God’s Word (an annual goal). This year I am using the NIV Essentials Study Bible. Think of a Study Bible on steroids, and you begin to get a glimpse of the various lenses this study Bible provides for engaging a deeper study of God’s Word.

Combining the best of the best insights from

NIV Study Bible,

NIV Quest Study Bible,

NIV Archaeological Study Bible

NIV Student Bible

The Great Rescue Bible

The Essential Bible Companion

And that’s why I love this study Bible, it provides a variety of lenses to engage God’s Word.  Study note highlights to clarify verses. Q & A to dig into life application. People in focus to delve a little deeper into the people of the Bible and lessons to be learned.  You can dig deep, look close, and seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance in living life each day.

For those reading the Bible for the 1st time or the 30th time, there is much to glean from a closer look at God’s Word.

Ultimately the power of the NIV Essentials Study Bible is the Word of God itself. The study tools help make connections between the stories of the Bible, the overarching story of God, and the every day story of our lives.

I give the NIV Essentials Study Bibles 5 out of 5 stars. What a great tool for engaging God’s Word as a novice or seasoned reader. Whether you are flying over God’s Word for a taste, or diving deep for a plunge, this Bible provides a great opportunity to engage and learn from God’s Word each day.

My thanks to Zondervan and BookSneeze for a free copy to review. I wasn’t required to give a positive review just an honest one.
