Soul Food for Friday: The Art of Education

New year means new opportunities to learn. This week’s Soul Food for Friday comes from one of my favorite quote books, Oxymoronica by Dr. Mardy Grothe. Here’s some paradoxical wisdom on education:

“The chief object of education is not to learn things but to unlearn things.” — G. K. Chesteron

“Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.” — Will Durant

“Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.” — Sir George Savile

“Education consists mainly in what we have unlearned.” — Mark Twain

Or as some one put it, the more you learn, the less you know. But there is a great adventure in learning, don’t miss those great lessons God wants to teach you. What lessons are this new year teaching you?
