Approaching a new year is a great time to look at one’s purpose in life, what has gone well in the past year, what can go better in the new year.
This past year I have read through The Daily Drucker, daily readings from the writings of Peter Drucker. This week’s soul food for Friday comes from Drucker on managing onself: identify strengths (October 12).
Peter Drucker says, “It takes far less energy to move from first-rate performance to excellence that it does to move from incompetence to mediocrity.”
Druker says you make this happen in 5 ways:
1st, concentrate on your strengths.
2nd, work on improving your strengths.
3rd, recognize disabling habits.
4th, remedy bad habits and bad manners.
5th, figure out what you should not do.
As you begin a new year, what strengths do you hope to develop? What bad habits do you hope to drop?
