Soul Food for Friday: Tending the Lawn

As the owner of a brown lawn, this week’s Soul Food for Friday quote seems a bit ironic. Robert Fulguhm writes: “The grass is not in fact always greener on the other side of the fence. Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest when it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be.” — Robert Fulghum (It was on Fire When I Lay Down on It)

So how is your soul doing this week? Little brown? Need some living water? Even more whose “brown grass” are you turning green with the water you bring? That’s the greatest joy in life!

  1. I like your quote better: “Even more whose “brown grass” are you turning green with the water you bring?”
