Soul Food for Friday: Words about Work

Moving into Labor Day Weekend, here’s 3 quotes about work to feed your soul:

The first is from great English preacher Charles Haddon Spurgeon:

“There is no fatigue so wearisome as that which comes from lack of work.”

Then there’s this from Walt Disney:

“Disneyland is not just another amusement park. It’s unique, and I want to keep it that way. Besides, you don’t work for a dollar — you work to create and have fun.”

This gem from college basketball coaching legend John Wooden on learning:

“The four laws of learning are explanation, demonstration, imitation, and repetition. The goal is to create a correct habit that can be produced instinctively under great pressure. To make sure this goal was achieved, I created eight laws of learning: namely, explanation, demonstration, imitation, repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition, and repetition.”

As we rest from labor this weekend, let’s us all be re-energized to learn, to work, and especially to create and have fun.

What great quotes inspire you to bring the best to your work?
