Getting ready for a message on purpose and knowing God’s will at the end of the month leads to this week’s Soul Food for Friday. Knowing why am I here and even more pursuing that life has always been part of my desire to live on purpose, not only for myself, but also in helping others pursue God’s purpose for their lives.
Seeing people discover and follow God’s purpose for their lives, fuels my passion to live and to serve. That leads to this week’s quote from Frederick Buechner about God’s will. Buechner said God’s will is: “The place where God calls you is where your deep gladness meets the world’s deep hunger.”
God’s will is not something to fear (though fear may be involved), but something to embrace, something to pursue.
As one wise blogger noted on the innovate on purpose blogspot, how different would Martin Luther King’s speech been, if he had declared, “I have a plan” instead of “I have a dream.” God has more than a plan for your life, He has a dream. Are you ready to meet it?
What’s God’s dream for your life right now? Are you ready to meet that place where the deep gladness God has given you and the world’s deep hunger intersect?
